I'm releasing this piece on the July 16, 2020, the 75th anniversary of the Trinity Test, in New Mexico on July 16, 1945. My grandfather, Lovell Cardenas, was an engineer who contributed work to the Manhattan Project, the effort to design and build the first atomic bombs, culminating in the Trinity Test and the horrific bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.

This song commemorates the 75th anniversary of the first atomic weapons test, the Trinity Test, conducted in the desert between Alamogordo and Socorro, New Mexico, and was released on the anniversary itself, July 16th, 2020

In this composition there are 2119 snare drum notes, arranged in triplets of increasing tempo, one for every known nuclear weapons test since, and including, Trinity. It is one of a trio of tracks along with Morning Song (Hiroshima) and Morning Song (Nagasaki).
